Which year do your Grades start to matter for collage scholarship?

February 22nd, 2012

Some colleges do not look at your grades from 9th grade, but it depends. Typically the grades from your summer after 9th grade through summer after 11th grade matter the most, in your academic subjects.

You are smart to think about college scholarship requirements early. The best thing you can do is to earn a college scholarship is to get outstanding grades and test scores, as most scholarships and grants for college take those into account.

Good luck.

When you can spell college correctly. (okay just teasing)

Grades start to matter when you are a high school junior, because that is what they look at the most. But if it didn’t work out for the student, push for it senior year. And even later, if you go to a community college

They look at two things – your overall GPA (which includes ALL highschool grades), and SAT/ACT standardized test scores.

Highschool.
