The predecessor of the University of Florida is East Florida Seminary in 1853, in the 19th century, 60s, the seminaries and the University of Florida Agricultural mergered until the 1905 relocated to Gainesville and officially named the University of Florida. In 1906 it only accepted male students until open to female in 1947. As Florida’s oldest, largest and most comprehensive institution of higher learning, University of Florida, is the most diverse public research university in the United States, its formal curriculum of international teaching and research have a long history.
